Central Ducted Heat Pump Rebate
Mini Split Ductless Rebate
Program Overview
- Maximum Rebate: Up to $24,500 toward heat pump installation and upgrades
- Who Is Eligible: Homeowners or residents of British Columbia who:
- Live in a qualifying property
- Meet household income requirements
- Hold an active residential utility account with BC Hydro, FortisBC, or a municipal utility provider
- Eligible Equipment: Rebates apply to approved heat pump systems and related upgrades installed by a registered program contractor.
- Program Funding: This initiative is supported by the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, and BC Hydro.
How Rebate Amounts Are Determined
- The total rebate you may receive depends on several factors:
- Household income level
- Number of occupants in the home
- Current home heating system
- Type of heat pump installed
- Property location
- Income tiers are used to calculate rebate maximums, with higher support available for lower-income households.
Homes Currently Heated With Oil
Households replacing oil heating with an electric heat pump may qualify for rebates covering up to 100% of project costs.
Maximum rebate amounts:
Central ducted & 3-head multi-split systems
Two-head multi-split or dual mini-split systems
Single-head mini-split systems
Air-to-water heat pumps (space heating)
Combined space & water heating systems
Electrical service upgrades
Northern Region Bonus
Additional rebates are available for eligible northern households:
Up to $3,000 for central, multi-split, and air-to-water systems
Up to $1,500 for single-head mini-splits
Homes must be located north of (or including) the District of 100 Mile House and connected to BC Hydro service to qualify.
